Two Walmarts later, I purchased Nintendo's Wii Fit ($89).

Yesterday, I thought I would lose a little sleep to ensure that I start my new fitness program sooner rather than later. Two Walmarts later, at 12:01AM, I purchased Nintendo’s Wii Fit ($89). Like the Wii, it was hard to get. My wife really wanted one, but I would be lieing if I said I was buying it just for her. The truth is I wanted to give it a try as well.

When I first turned it on it asked for info like my birth date, height, and how much my clothes weighed before figuring my BMI and telling me I have awful balance. Then it ask to set a 2 week goal based on your current BMI and guides you to meeting that goal through fitness challenges. After you run through a few more test you are able to train in areas like Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. As you train your time is logged and you are graded on how well you performed in the challenges. The more you play the more challenges you unlock, 40 in all. After only logging a little over an hour and half, I am pretty sore. I found I am pretty good at the yoga and balancing games. The Strength Training is pretty tough and works up a nice sweat. My wife kicks my butt in many challenges but I still surprised her with my dance skills in a DDR inspired rhythm game. The games are all cheesy but when you look at the graphs and all the data that the Wii is keeping track of, it’s really pretty awesome. I will keep you posted on our stats at the end of my daily blogs.

Wii Fit Stats for Today
Josh’s BMI - 22.10 Goal - 21.48 Feeling - Sore
Des’s BMI - 21.15 Goal - 20.78 Feeling - Sore

I have always wanted to get with the times and get a Netflix account, but felt slighted by the lack of OSX support... until now

This is what I have been waiting for. As a movie lover and a Blockbuster (or any other video rental store for that matter) hater, I looked to Redbox for my video rental needs. I have always wanted to get with the times and get a Netflix account, but felt slighted by the lack of OSX support for streaming movies. For the longest time Netflix Movie streaming has only worked for the dreaded PC. I told my self i could hold out for a solution. Well today is the day.

Thanks to the company Roku, I can stream over 10,000 movies straight to my TV. All it takes to enjoy the experience is a Netflix account -$8.99 or more a month- and the Roku that weighs in at $99.99. The Roku has all the necessary outputs to fit in to any entertainment set up. I plan on ordering one soon and will follow up with a full review.
